Getting productive with Java Content Repository APIOver time, real world applications, and specifically Content Management Systems have become more demading and have grown more and more complex, most of the time requiring features like heterogeneous/mixed data type storage, versioning, locking, workflows, event monitoring. Java Content Repository specification covers all these and more, focusing on abstracting the access to different storage solutions and allowing unified and performant, but also intuitive usage. The spec covers a set of advanced storage services, where these are not only meant for data management, but offer features like versioning, full-text indexing, fine grained access control, event monitoring. Using the JCR API will allow application developers to focus only on the specific requirements and not bother to develop in-house or use specific vendor solutions to gain access to these features. In this session, the audiance will be introduced to the basic and advanced parts of the API . By the end of the session the attendees will learn how to consider the JCR in light of other storage APIs and how to use the common features of JCR.
